Can a Nai Taleem for today in the true Gandhian spirit imagine a pedagogy and curriculum that provides the skills, attitudes and values for living lightly and harmoniously on this planet? Given that at the moment we are in the thick of a very serious ecological crisis threatening all our life forms there is all the more an urgency to rethink and redesign our school education that offers us a more just, humane, equitable and sustainable future.
In this section we offer you a glimpse of the various alternatives to living, being and doing for a better future for all that can be part of the school curriculum.
We start with the very basic demands of human survival- Food , Air, Water, Clothing, Shelter, Natural resources and use these as themes to see what all can be taught and learnt at a school level , outside of schools , at home and surroundings .
