Developed by Development Research Communication & Services Centre (DRCSC)for the  Ecology and Natural Resource Education project (ENRE), this booklet is the third in the series of creative lesson plans for teachers, educators and community workers.  The activities in this booklet can be summarized as follows: 1.  “Water and Our Life : from Where and How Much ?”(Class 5 -7): Discovering the importance of water in our daily lives, different factors are related to domestic water use and understanding the water situation in our area by studying individual conditions. 2.  “Water Source Mapping” (Class 5 -7): Learning about different sources of the water that we use, finding out difficulties in accessing water and environmental condition of water sources. 3.  “Let’s Make a Water Filter” (Class 5 -8): Learning about scientific and simple methods of purifying water. 4.  “Our Water & Hygiene Behaviour” (Class 5 -8): Developing awareness of hygiene and learning about water borne disease and their prevention. 5.  “Pond Management” (Class 6-9): Learning about better management of common water resources like ponds and collectively managing them. 6.  “Water Source Improvement” (Class 6-9): Analysing water sources, learning about re-using and recycling used water leading towards community water management. At the end of the booklet, there is an essay titled A Pond right in the middle by Subrata Kundu along with a comprehensive list of books, booklets and interesting lesson plans on water.
